Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies
“The creative industry, as it is being practised here, puts Nottingham on the map and I am delighted that excellent things like this take place outside of London.”
Nick Clegg, Deputy Prime Minister
Established by Craig Chettle in 1994 with just a handful of staff and students Confetti has become one of the most forward thinking educational institutes in the UK.
Working with The People’s College of Further Education, (now part of Central College Nottingham), Confetti offered a small range of practical training courses in Sound Production.
Confetti staff have worked to build high standards of teaching and house the latest equipment and facilities, continually reinvesting in the vision. The organisation recognised the rapid growth of the Creative Industry sector and focused on providing a dedicated training facility to teach Creative Technologies.
Confetti progressed to work with DeMontfort University to offer higher education and foundation degree courses, as well as offering part-time programmes and Pro Training Academies.
In its 17-year history, Confetti has grown from a small organisation, with a handful of staff, to one of the most forward thinking educational institutes in the UK with over sixty staff and delivering courses to over 1000 students a year.
Confetti courses are operated in partnership with Central College Nottingham and De Montfort University, Leicester. However, what makes Confetti really unique are the companies which run alongside the institute and form the Confetti Media Group.
The existence of commercial companies, working alongside the educational institute, is a huge advantage to Confetti students as they gain experience of working in a professional environment and learn the skills which are currently being used in the Industry, preparing them for their own careers.
The commercial aspect of Confetti also strengthens and forges strong links with companies in the Creative Industries. These links create opportunities for our students, uncommon to many colleges, such as future employment, guest lectures, studio tours, trade show visits and personal contact with a whole range of industry professionals.
