BTEC Level 3 Technical Events
If you have a strong interest in events, in particular the technical and ‘backstage’ roles, and are considering higher-level study, such as a Foundation Degree, HND or Degree course, or you wish to gain specialist vocational skills to improve your employability, then the Level 3 Technical Events Production course is for you. The qualification is nationally recognised and is equivalent to 3 ‘A’ Levels.

The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Technical Events course offers exciting opportunities within the live event industry. Whether it be large venue live sound, festivals, lighting full stage concerts, audio / visual technician experience, stage management and backstage experiences or production management, the Technical Events course provides practical experiences within professional venues, taught by industry professionals as well providing vital theoretical knowledge that prepares you for industry. Along with the benefits of theory and practical sessions, projects linked to real-life experience and endorsed by professionals in the industry. We also provide lectures and workshops and have a programme of specialist guest speakers to enhance your learning experience both inside and outside the classroom.

As well as the Technical Events extended diploma course preparing you for industry careers you will be able to progress onto degree courses such as technical theatre and live sound and production.
This course is designed to allow you to enter the live and technical events industry. You will have contact with real industry links and working alongside industry professionals. The technical events course can lead to careers such as live sound engineering, backline management, production management, stage lighting technician and lighting designer for staged events in the live music and theatre industries, Stage management for live events and technical roles within the events industry.

5 GCSEs at grades A to C and must include English and Maths.
A merit overall at BTEC Level 2 or equivalent.
